The finish line was in sight, as the Apostle Paul wrote 2 Timothy. In prison, knowing the end of his life was drawing near, he gave final words of instruction to the young man who would carry on the work of the ministry after him. It is a very optimistic book. Paul had poured out his life for Jesus Christ, was eager to enter the presence of the Savior. He fought the good fight, and finished the race. He was longing for the crown of righteousness that would be awarded on that day.
