The King Who Became Proud

There are a lot of temptations that can trip us up in life, but for whatever reason, pride is one of the more difficult to avoid. Pride has a way of sneaking up on us, showing up when we least expect it. We don’t see it coming; it often flies in under the radar. If we’re not careful our ego can begin to swell… we start patting ourselves on the back and congratulating ourselves for being so talented and capable and wise. Watch out! It doesn’t take long for the heart to fill with conceit, and down we go!

The King Who Served God

Hezekiah was one of the greatest kings in the Old Testament, not only in the eyes of men but more importantly in the sight of God. People often measure a leader’s success by their accolades and accomplishments, but God measures a leader’s success by their character. In 2 Kings 18:1-8, Hezekiah’s example encourages us to be that kind of leader in whatever position of influence the Lord places us.
