Jesus Paid the Price

by Barbara Boedicker

A baby born to live a sinless life,

To suffer, be rejected, and to die.

His death, upon that Cruel Cross,

Renewed what once had been totally lost.

He gave up His life for you and for me,

Shed His righteous blood to set us free.

Freed from sin, and from our shame,

His loving sacrifice was not in vain.

He offers to us forgiveness for sin,

A gift freely given, purchased by Him.

It is our choice to accept or reject,

A choice that we must not neglect.

As our Savior, He removes our guilt,

By the blood on the cross He has spilt.

His own righteousness a covering for us,

In Jesus Christ we can truly trust.

Every Christian’s soul He has healed,

Safe and secure, we are sealed.

He promises us a home with Him,

An eternity that will never end.

For now we follow His guiding step,

God’s eternal Word in our heart is kept.

Traveling our pathway we walk in His love,

Until we go home to heaven above.

Yes, Jesus Paid the Price for us,

He paid it in full, in that we can trust.

He is our beloved, our Savior, and friend,

And This will never, ever end.

1 Peter 2:21–24

Christ suffered for you… He committed no sin… when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
