Grace Gospel Church is dedicated to the teaching of the Word of God. We are premilennial and dispensational in our doctrine. Below you will find a summary of our doctrinal beliefs.

What We Believe about God

We believe that there is one God. He exists (and has always existed) in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The word "trinity" describes this aspect of the nature of God. In His character He is perfect, loving, righteous, holy, just, wise and good. He is also eternal, all-knowing and all-powerful. God is the creator of the universe. It is His desire for us to come to know Him. (Deuteronomy 32:3-4; Psalm 147:5-6; John 10:30)

"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all." 2 Corinthians 13:14

What We Believe about the Bible

We believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word, and in it He has revealed Himself to us. Because it is "God-breathed" it is without mistake or error in it's entirety. The Bible teaches us about God, His character, His works, and His plans. In a world that is filled with confusion, the Bible makes known to us what is true. In God's Word, we are shown how to enter into a relationship with the Lord, and we find direction as we grow in our walk with Him. (Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 4:2-3; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16

What We Believe about Salvation

We believe that all people are in need of God's grace to rescue us from our lives of brokenness and sin. We find ourselves unable by our own strength to lift ourselves out of this condition. But God sent a Savior, His Son Jesus Christ, to deliver us. The Lord Jesus came to the earth and suffered a cruel death on the cross, taking upon Himself our guilt and shame that He might pay the penalty for our sins. His body was buried in a tomb, and three days later He rose again. And so in Him we are able to experience God's salvation, forgiveness, and eternal life. God calls each of us to receive this salvation by believing in Jesus as our Savior, and trusting in the work that He has accomplished on our behalf. (Romans 3:23-24; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:8-11; John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9)

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16

What We Believe about the Dispensations

We believe that God, knowing that creation would become corrupted by sin, devised a plan of redemption to call humanity back to Himself and restore the universe according to His perfect design. Since the beginning of history God has been carrying out this plan through a series of different stages. In the present dispensation, the age of Grace, God reaches out to all people through His Church. God's plan of redemption will be completed during the final dispensation that yet remains, the future Kingdom of God. (Ephesians 3:1-12; Colossians 1:25-27)

"To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things." Ephesians 3:8-9

What We Believe about the Church

We believe that the identity of the Church is different from both Old Testament Israel and the future Kingdom of God. The Church is a spiritual body made up of all believers from across the entire earth. Jesus Christ is head over it, and thus the Church is also called the Body of Christ. God's designs and plans concerning the Church were not made known in previous ages, but were revealed at the beginning of the Church age. We believe that the origin of the Church is found in the middle chapters of the book of Acts with the ministry commissioned to the Apostle Paul. (Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 3:1-10)

"So we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." Romans 12:5

What We Believe about Spiritual Gifts

We believe that the Lord grants various gifts to believers for the purpose of strengthening His Church and accomplishing the work of the ministry. Some of the gifts given to the early Church have continued, but it was God's will for some of those gifts to pass away. The "sign gifts" are among those no longer operative for the Church today (the gift of tongues, the gift of performing miraculous healing, the gift of predictive prophecy). These gifts accompanied the work of the apostles, and the apostolic period. (Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 1:22; 1 Corinthians 13:8; 2 Corinthians 12:12)

"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons." 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

What We Believe about Baptism

We believe that the moment a person believes in Christ Jesus as their Savior they experience an unseen, spiritual baptism. There are no outward manifestations of this baptism, except for a changed life. This work is performed by the Holy Spirit, who immerses the believer into the Church, cleansing the heart with the blood of Christ. Because the "one baptism" for the Church age is of a spiritual nature, we do not require any ritual of water baptism for participation or membership in our church assembly. (1 Corinthians 1:14-17; 12:13; Ephesians 4:5)

"For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body… and we were all made to drink of one Spirit." 1 Corinthians 12:13

What We Believe about the Future

We believe that one day Christ Jesus will return to the earth. He will first appear in the clouds gathering all those who believe in Him. We will be caught up together with Him in the sky, receive glorified bodies, and return to heaven. This event will be followed by a terrible period of judgment poured out on the earth upon those who have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ and refused His gift of salvation. At the end of this tribulation, the Lord Jesus will descend to the earth to establish a kingdom of peace over all nations. Finally, there will be a new heaven and a new earth created in perfection and believers from all ages will dwell there with the Lord for all eternity. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11; 1 Corinthians 15:50-52; Matthew 24:1-31; Revelation 20:4-6; 21:1-4)

"Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord."
1 Thessalonians 4:17
